I. 

Introduction to the Joint Education Institute of Zhejiang Normal University and University of Kansas

  

The Joint Education Institute of Zhejiang Normal University and University of Kansas was approved by the MOE in China and established on April 2023. The institute will strive to cultivate outstanding future teachers with patriotic sentiment, global vision, professional literacy and creative spirit relying on both advantages of education disciplines and adhering to the philosophy of Crossing the Border, Creating the Future. The institute focuses on major fields in science education, special education, mental health and educational measurement with the orientation of high starting point, innovation and internationalization.

The education discipline of ZJNU has formed an integrated cultivating system of undergraduate, master, doctor and postdoc. Currently there is a doctoral program of the first-level discipline of education, cross-discipline of intelligent education and teacher education neuroscience and professional degree in education. There is a postdoctoral station of the first-level discipline of education. There are more than 10 provincial teaching and research platforms in the discipline of education, such as National Teacher Education Training Center, National Off-campus Practice and Education Base for College Students, National Special Education Resource Center, Key Laboratory of Intelligent Education Technology and Application in Zhejiang Province, Key Research Base of Philosophy and Social Sciences in Zhejiang Province, Research Center of Basic Education in Zhejiang Province, Collaborative Innovation Center of Excellent Teachers Cultivation in Zhejiang Province in 2011, and Research Center of Science Education.

KU has a high international academic reputation and strength. There are 14 colleges, more than 400 degree and certificate programs and more than 28,000 students from 114 countries and regions.

Recruitment plan


Academic Dean
Duration of Appointment and Treatment:

1. The university implements a four-year initial appointment system.

2. Relevant treatment is in accordance with the objectives and tasks of One person, One negotiation. It will provide good conditions of work and scientific research support and life security.
Recruitment Conditions:
1. Those who have held important management positions in well-known universities or research institutes at home and abroad are preferred.
2. Recipients of national talent programs, national major scientific research project leaders or important scientific research awards winners are preferred.
3. Typically under 50 years of age and in good physical and mental health.

Talents recruitment policy in ZJNU
  The recruitment policy is based on the full-time faculty recruitment announcement of Zhejiang Normal University in 2024.

Recruitment policies for high-level talents
According to the teaching and research level of the personnel to be recruited is divided into two categories: distinguished professor and Shuanglong scholar. The specific requirements are as follows:
1. Distinguished Professors
Category A: Scholars whose teaching and research levels reach or approach those of academicians, recipients of major national talents plans, and scholars at home and abroad with an equivalent academic status and achievements.
Category B: Talents whose teaching and research level reach or approach that of recipients of major national youth talents plans, and scholars at home and abroad with an equivalent academic level.

      Note

1.The objectives and tasks shall be determined by mutual agreement.

2.Provide rentable apartments for experts and assist in settling the spouse’s job in accordance with the spouses’ current establishment status.

3.The remuneration includes total amount of basic salary, performance salary, various kinds of allowances stipulated by the state and the university, as well as the five insurance policies and one pension paid by individuals (excluding the five insurance policies and one pension paid by the work unit).


2.Shuanglong Scholar

Outstanding talents in line with the conditions for declaration of Shuanglong Scholars in Zhejiang Normal University (provincial talents from inside or outside the province are included in Shuanglong scholars for overall consideration).
(i) Requirements

Age: Generally below 45 years old for science and engineering, and below 50 years old for humanities and social sciences.

Requirements for title: generally should have a senior professional title, with a doctoral degree and more than 1 year of foreign study or work experience can be appropriately relaxed.

Grade A

Teaching and research level reaches or is close to the important talent programs in Zhejiang Province and scholars at home and abroad with an equivalent academic level.

Grade B

Teaching and research level reaches or is close to the youth program of important talents in Zhejiang Province, as well as scholars at home and abroad with an equivalent academic level.

Grade C

Highly qualified professors with a certain degree of influence.

The outstanding young doctoral candidates who apply for Shuanglong scholars professorship must provide 5 original and influential representative publications.

Young doctors recruitment policy
1.Targets for recruitment
Young doctors from renowned universities (research institutes) at home and abroad (generally under 35 years of age, with appropriate relaxation of the age limit for those who are particularly outstanding).
2.The first employment period system
The university implements a four-year initial appointment system.

Remarks:
1. For the newly recruited high-level young doctors of the relevant disciplines that the university intends to focus on breakthroughs (such as those related to ascending disciplines and advantageous and characteristic disciplines), the university will provide an additional allowance of 50,000 RMB during the first tenure of employment.
2. Scientific research performance is eligible for the university’s scientific research achievement awards in accordance with the universitys regulations.
 3. The university intends to focus on breakthroughs in related disciplines (such as top disciplines and advantageous and characteristic disciplines), as well as the achievement of landmark results of the talent, the target task and treatment can be appropriately adjusted.


Other notes:

1.This policy shall be interpreted by the University Personnel Office.

2.After the talent recruited, if you are selected by the state, province or city for various types of talent programs through our school declaration, you can be upgraded according to the school’s talent policy. You can enjoy corresponding treatment, and at the same time can be awarded by the state, province or city for talent incentives.
3.If the employer provides housing for talents, you can purchase in accordance with the policy of the employer.
