The opening ceremony of the American middle school students' exchange study camp hosted by the Joint Education Institute of ZJNU & Kansas University was held on 8 June in the lecture hall of Building 2, Zhengyang Conference Center. Mr. Yigang Lin, Vice President of Zhejiang Normal University, and Mr. Jia Yu, Director of Career Development, United States China Education Joint Development Association, Indiana, USA, were in attendance and delivered speeches.
On behalf of Zhejiang Normal University, Yigang Lin welcomed the American young friends who participated in the exchange and study camp in China. He expressed gratitude to the Career Development, United States China Education Joint Development Association for its invaluable support of this initiative and provided a brief overview of the university's achievements. Mr Lin expressed hope that the students would share their experiences with their peers and contribute to the advancement of people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.Jia Yu expressed gratitude to the teachers and students who had organised this activity. Jia Yu noted that Zhejiang Province and Indiana are friendship provinces and states, and that the two places have been engaged in friendly educational cooperation in the field of education for many years. This exchange visit provides a valuable opportunity to gain an understanding of each other's development vision and to work together in a collaborative manner. It is my hope that through this exchange visit, China and the United States will be able to promote exchanges, jointly build, exchange and inherit, and move toward a world of common understanding. Afterwards, Yigang Lin presented gifts to the teachers and students of the learning camp and took a group photo. The Zhejiang Normal University International Office, Joint Education Institute, teachers and students representatives, and all members of the American middle school students in China exchange study camp were in attendance at the opening ceremony.

As the organiser of this learning camp,Joint Education Institute is aware of the importance and significance of this event and has invested a great deal of energy and resources from the beginning of preparation to ensure the smooth progress and high quality of the event. The College established a dedicated preparatory team, led by senior management, to oversee the planning and execution of the 11-day itinerary. This included visits to key sites in Hangzhou, Jinhua, Quzhou, Beijing and other locations, with the objective of providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of China's social development and the history of Sino-US relations. Additionally, the team engaged with education departments, scientific and technological enterprises and cultural institutions across the country to facilitate networking and knowledge sharing.We were able to gain their support and cooperation, and provided the campers with a wealth of learning resources and practical opportunities. In order to deepen the cultural exchange between China and the United States, the College has arranged a series of cultural exchange activities, including traditional Chinese culture experience classes, which will allow the campers to enhance their understanding and friendship in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
The success of the exchange and learning camp for American middle school students in China is a tangible demonstration of the United Education College's commitment to translating the spirit of the General Secretary's letter reply into tangible action, a constructive exploration of the Sino-US Joint Education College's role in facilitating Sino-US exchanges, and a genuine reflection of Sino-US educational and cultural exchanges and Sino-US youth exchanges. The Zhejiang Normal University Kansas University Joint School of Education is the 2023 Zhejiang division.
We have a long-standing relationship and a mutual understanding of each other's needs. The reply from President Xi Jinping reflects the high expectations for the development of education between China and the United States. The teachers and students of the United Education College will implement the spirit of the President's reply. In the future, they will collaborate with the partnering universities in the United States to facilitate cultural exchange and cooperation in education between China and the United States. They will also work to establish the Joint Education Institute as a leading platform for cultural exchange between China and the United States, fostering mutually beneficial exchanges in the field of higher education between the two countries.
